Energy Psychology

Neuro Emotional Anti-Sabotage Technique©

Neuro Emotional Anti-Sabotage Technique is a form of Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.). It is one type of energy psychology. It was trademarked and developed by Scott Walker, D.C. to safely and quickly release negative emotional patterns from the physical body. It utilizes the body’s own self-healing abilities. An N.E.A.T. practitioner can quickly find the source of any Neuro Emotional Complex and, guiding you through a gentle correction, help you release the unwanted pattern from the physical body. Once “unstuck”, the body becomes more balanced, and the client is able to express emotions freely, rather than feeling compelled to react inappropriately.

Unresolved “Negative” Emotions

It is important to know that emotions are a natural part of being human.  They are neither positive nor negative.  However, when I differentiate between “positive” and “negative” emotions, you probably understand what I mean.  Happiness is considered positive and desirable, and grief is considered negative and undesirable.

Negative emotional response patterns, thoughts, or behavior can become stuck in the mind/body from a significant event in the past that was not processed entirely, usually because we did not know how. Freud called this a reaction formation. This response is usually unconscious, and can be likened to the kind of response displayed by Pavlov’s dog. (The dog would salivate when a bell was rung, anticipating dinner, because the dog learned that dinner usually came shortly after the bell was rung.) If negative emotions are not felt and released, these emotions can lead to automatic response patterns that continue to be held in the body. Over time, unresolved negative emotions can manifest as physical symptoms, such as pain or dysfunction. You can have many unresolved negative emotions and not know it, because that awareness is often unconscious.

Here’s a simple way to understand this.  Emotions are normal.  When you were young, perhaps no one taught you about your emotions, or how to handle them.  Maybe you misunderstood that when you felt badly, it was not appropriate to show your emotions, and you struggled with them internally.  You may have felt that after you repressed them, they went away.  Not so.  You may not be consciously aware of the emotions now, but if your emotions were not fully felt and discharged, they are still there.  Every time you have an emotion, your body translates it into a powerful chemical, that goes coursing through your body.  It remains in the cells and tissues of your body until it is released.  In other words, emotions have a physical, chemical component to them.  N.E.T. helps you release these emotions that no longer serve you.  They are preventing you from being the best person you can be.

How does N.E.A.T. work?

We are each unique human beings. Ten people can experience the same event, and each will have a different reaction. Furthermore, each will process that emotional response in a different way, and the differing emotions will each affect different organs and systems within each individual’s body.

Applying his understanding of Chinese energy meridians, Dr. Scott Walker invented and streamlined this amazing process, whereby the affected organs can release stored, stuck emotions. A trained practitioner (usually an acupuncturist, a chiropractor, or a psychotherapist) can, through a method called applied kinesiology (muscle testing), identify unresolved emotions.   He/she can then locate where they are being held in the body and help your body release them in a very short period of time, compared to traditional therapies. Often, with results that are immediately evident.

When I first experienced N.E.A.T. and N.E.T. myself, I was astounded at how effortlessly I was able to release some major, ingrained beliefs that were sabotaging my growth. These beliefs, based on stuck emotions that I had held since childhood, affected my ability to manifest my dreams in the present.  Have you ever worked diligently with affirmations and positive thinking, only to remain stuck?  That is because the negative thoughts and emotions in your subconscious (in your body and mind) were working against you.

Linda is CERTIFIED in N.E.T.  Contact Linda for an appointment. Your first half hour is free!

For more information, visit the official N.E.T. Website.  It has video demonstrations and audio clips that show and describe this helpful modality in more detail.  Bear in mind that these demos show chiropractors using the N.E.T. process.  Psychotherapists do N.E.A.T., and do it differently from the way chiropractors do N.E.T.  We use different meridian access points, located on the wrist, and do not work on the spine.  Psychotherapists are trained to use emotions as a way into the subconscious; chiropractors and acupuncturists are trained to use pain or bodily dysfunction as a way to access the subconscious.  All can help you release unwanted emotional residue.

If you are not in my area, you can find a listing of certified practitioners near you by visiting www.netmindbody.com.  If you are a practitioner, inquire about their trainings. You will thank me.

Touch and Breathe©

Another form of Energy Psychology in which Linda is trained is called Touch and Breathe.  It was developed by John Diepold, Ph.D.  Touch and Breathe (TAB) uses touch or acupressure instead of the tapping used by Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), with important additions.  It combines brain integration techniques derived from branches of kinesiology, as well as breathing, and mindfulness.  The best layman’s book on the subject is “The Energy of Belief” by Sheila Sidney Bender, Ph.D. and Mary T. Sise, L.C.S.W.  I highly recommend this book if you wish to learn more about Touch and Breathe.

Touch and Breathe can easily be learned by laymen, and practiced at home.  Linda teaches it to clients in sessions, and recommends it as a tool for self-empowerment.
